| Description | Hi Kerwin SKB manager wants to know about below logs. Hi Mr. YK Jung, First, I think you may know about "DNS over TLS". This feature is added since Android 9 by Google to protect DNS queries. In the log, the PID '3049' is Android netd service. It tried to connect to DNS server over TLS but failed. "error 5" is the error message by SSL_connect. (#define SSL_ERROR_SYSCALL 5) And "errno 110" means timeout. Hi kerwin I have a question. then is there no operational problem even if this error or debug log occurs? If an error occurs in the DNS over TLS , do Android system use simple DNS? Thanks!! YK.Jung |

Hi Mr. YK Jung, It will fall back to usual DNS on port 53. I share a document from Google for your reference. (https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using#android) You can know more details about it. >>>>> For more information see the Android blog post announcing the feature. Please note that in Android P, the default mode for Private DNS is "Automatic" which means it uses the network specified DNS server and it attempts a TLS connection to port 853 before falling back to UDP on port 53. |
